Refund Policy

When a payment can be refunded, when it cannot, and exactly what cancelling does to your access — written to what the billing system actually does.

The short version

Your first subscription payment is refundable in full for 14 days, for any reason or none. Renewals are not. One-time token and storage top-ups are final sale, because they land on your account the moment you buy them. Cancelling is always available and always keeps you paid up to the end of the period you already bought.

Everything below says the same thing in more detail. If the two ever disagree, the detail wins — but tell us, because that would be a mistake worth fixing.

You are never charged to try it

Every new account starts with 14 days of full Pro, and no payment card is required to sign up. The trial does not convert into a paid plan on its own and cannot bill you. When it ends, the account simply drops to the Free plan.

That matters for everything that follows: by the time any charge reaches you, you have already had 14 days with the full product. The refund window below is on top of that, not instead of it.

First payment: full refund within 14 days

If the first subscription payment on your account was made within the last 14 days, email support@loftline.dev and we will refund it in full. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask you to sit through a retention conversation.

This applies to any first subscription charge:

  • Pro, monthly — $12 per month.
  • Pro, annual — $115 per year.
  • Any individual feature you bought on its own rather than as part of Pro.

The refund is issued through Polar to the payment method you used. Banks generally take five to ten business days to post it. Your Pro access ends when the refund is issued.

Renewals are not refundable

Charges after the first one are not covered by the window above. A renewal is a charge you have had a full billing period to see coming, and the way to stop it is to cancel before it happens rather than to reverse it afterwards.

Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so cancelling the day before a renewal costs you nothing and takes nothing away — see what cancelling does.

Two things are always refunded regardless of this rule: a charge that was duplicated, and a charge that was ours to prevent. Those are covered under billing mistakes.

One-time top-ups are final sale

Token packs ($5 and $18) and canvas storage packs ($3 and $5) are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. They are not refundable.

This is a statement about how they work rather than a position we have taken. A pack is credited to your account the instant the payment clears — the tokens are immediately spendable, and purchased storage is a permanent increase to your limit. There is no unredeemed state we could return you to, and no way for us to take back tokens you may already have spent.

So buy them in the size you need. If a pack was charged twice, or charged to the wrong account, that is a billing mistake and we will fix it.

What cancelling actually does

You can cancel at any time from Manage Billingin the app, which opens Polar's billing portal. Cancelling is not the same as a refund, and it is deliberately gentler than one:

  • You keep everything until the period ends. Cancelling on day two of a paid month does not drop you to Free on day two. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, and the app shows you that date.
  • Nothing is deleted. Dropping to Free lowers your caps, it does not remove work. Projects over the Free limit still open; it is creating the next one that is blocked until you are back under it. The same applies to canvas storage and collaborators.
  • You can undo it. Un-cancelling in the billing portal before the period ends puts the subscription back on its normal schedule.
  • There is no partial-period credit. Because you keep the access you paid for, cancelling mid-period does not produce a refund for the unused days.

Changing plans mid-period

Adding or removing features, or moving between monthly and annual billing, is prorated against your current billing period rather than processed as a cancellation and a fresh purchase. The value of the time you have not used is applied to the change. It is a credit against the new plan, not money returned to your card, and it does not start a new 14-day refund window.

Duplicate and mistaken charges

If you were charged twice for the same thing, charged after cancelling, or charged an amount that does not match what the app told you, that is our mistake and we refund it in full — whenever you find it, with no window and no argument. Email support@loftline.dev with the date and amount and we will trace it.

How to request a refund

Email support@loftline.dev from the address on your Loftline account, and include the date and amount of the charge. There is no form.

We reply within five business days. Polar is the merchant of record for every Loftline payment, so charges appear on your statement from Polar and refunds are issued back through them to your original payment method.

Please ask us before your bank

If something looks wrong with a charge, write to us first. A chargeback raised without contacting us takes weeks to resolve, costs a fee we cannot recover, and may suspend the account while the dispute is open — whereas an email usually settles it the same week. This does not affect your right to dispute a charge with your bank; it is a request, not a condition.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the consumer protection law that applies to you, including any statutory right to cancel or to a refund. Where that law gives you more than this policy does, it applies instead of this policy.

Something here unclear, or not matching what you see in the product? Write to support@loftline.dev and we will fix the document or the product, whichever is wrong.
